Thailand’s breathtaking landscapes, luxury resorts, and vibrant cities continue to captivate travelers. With The White Lotus series featuring Koh Samui, the country is drawing even more visitors to its idyllic beaches and cultural landmarks. Extended visa-free entry and expanded flight schedules make travel easier than ever. Christine Chung of The New York Times names Thailand a top 2025 destination, noting the government’s push to welcome 40 million tourists with improved tourism policies and upgraded infrastructure.
Thailand’s vibrant nightlife, lush landscapes, scenic beaches, and tens of thousands of temples have long drawn tourists to Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket. But the latest season of HBO’s The White Lotus might push visitors to explore further. Filmed largely on Koh Samui, an island known for its crystal-clear waters and lush jungles, the show could help the country reach its goal of attracting 40 million international tourists in 2025. To make visiting easier, the government has expanded its visa-free entry program, extended stay lengths to 60 days (double the previous limit,) and introduced a five-year visa for remote workers. Several airlines are expanding flights to Thailand as well.
